Circular adds

So, A certain department store always sends out a couple different sales adds every week. The paper is always a nice add all in color and all the latest styles for the whole family. On the front of the paper is usually a coupon for 20% off your purchase which is a great way to catch your attention. So many times I, along with couple family members, find several things to purchase there and take everything to the register and cheerfully hand the cashier my coupon. "I'm sorry, your items are excluded from this coupon"...you mean out of ten things, the coupon wont work on not even one? So I read the fine print on the back of the coupon and there seems to be about a hundred exclusions. So I guess the add did what they intended it to which was to get people in their store. But it is annoying to find out their coupons are almost useless.

A genious Idea

Ok, so whoever came up with bathroom marketing (not sure of what it is actually called) but they are genius. When you got to go, you got to go. What better way to target people who have no choice but to look straight ahead. I have seen in a few gas stations and restaurant restrooms, there are small signs on the inside of the stalls on the doors, and my husband informed me they are hanging above urinals also. They work like billboards, you rent the space, they advertise your business. It's kind of weird to me personally but they get their message out.

Catchy billboard sign

So I was driving down Cherokee Ave a couple weeks ago and saw a billboard that was upside down. I was so distracted the first time I saw it I couldn't even tell what it was even about. I just laughed and thought someone had one job and messed that one up...until I was going north on I65 and saw the same sign upside down again. I was driving too fast to read upside down. So it took a few times of passing it to read it. It was an advertisement for a gun and knife show. Not really my thing...but it caught my attention.

The bill board did what it was supposed to do...which is catch your eye and get your attention. However, I was more distracted by it being upside down it took me passing it a few times to actually read what it said. Had I not been local to the area and traveled those streets often I wouldn't have caught what it was even talking about.
